I started this topic because recently I’ve noticed quite a bit of text talk on the boards. It’s come to my attention that it is mostly new members doing this, who are probably unaware of the rules. I cannot stress how important it is to read the board rules before you post. It would also be much appreciated if members took extra care with grammar, to make it more readable to others. Also, could members please have a browse around the board to see if there is a topic posted before they start a new one covering the same content/subject. The rules are not hard to follow and can be found here.

No text talk and respecting Nigel’s privacy are two of the most important rules we have. Please try and adhere to them.

Can I also stress that some members here are not British and it's not fair on them having to read text talk. Please write in Full English. It's easier for us ALL to understand.

This is mainly for the New Members regarding the Video Clips Password...

Post Bumping will not get you the password! So please don't do it!

I've had to change the rules now so you have to have a full months membership before you receive it with your 150 posts on top.

(You're lucky the post count isn't increasing as well!)

I really don't want to be mean but the amount of PM's I've had in the past week or so from new members asking for the password is ridiculous! :blink:

These rules are set for a reason. I'm not being mean to add a bit of fun factor in to this. :(

We've been very fortunate to have Ann supplying us with clips but I swear this must be the only reason some members are signing up. :blink: We're here for Nigel at the end of the day!

You'll get the password when your time is due but those who post bump for the sake of it will be refused straight away!

I'm sorry yet again that this has had to happen. I know a lot of you are annoyed/upset etc because you can't get access to it but I have to keep the forum safe. I'm aware from the surveys I sent out how touchy a subject that forum is with some members but there's nothing I can do about it unless you all work with me on this. :(

If things improve then maybe Alisha and I will discuss the entry rules again but right now, if the rules are not getting followed, then things will stay as they are.

Sorry to all the members who have been supportive. I bet you're getting sick of this as much as I am. :lol:

no its ok kate, i can understand why your doing this, i feel like some members are just ignoring the rules, ann, bobbish morgan and anyone else who does clips and screencaps should have a right to have they're work protected, they take time to do this.

However we've noticed some new members doing alot of post bumping to get to 150 posts quick- just so they could get the access to the video clips straight away and this is what we are trying to avoid. After all, we don’t want members signing up just to view the clips and then leave when they've seen them. This is not what this forum is about. There are range of other stuff to discuss and take pleasure posting in. :) It just takes a bit of patience. The new one month rule wouldn't have emerged if we didn't think it was necessary but we do now. It's got to stay Nigel focused not clip focused. :) I hope you all understand.

Anyway, one month really is not long for new members. They can spread their post count over that time instead of sending out duplicate posts at such a rapid rate.

Just for those that may be unaware, the post count rule emerged because of a hack in the system a couple of months back which meant having a required amount of posts.

I hope this is ok with new members. If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate in pming me or Kate about this. :)

No that's quite understnable and as you say on some boards it's 500 posts so 150 is not that much.
And Nigel is worth it, it's a great site with so many things to talk about, I've already put the 17th on my calender for This Morning. Is that the one which did the best soap couple as well before xmas and Jim and Dot won it?

I really don't want to do this as I've got other stuff to do than editing people's posts.

As a new member myself I can completely understand your decision and as the old saying goes - 'Time flies when your having fun' and this is one place that you will certainly have fun

I understand. I have to be honest, I am a bit of a message board/website virgin so knowing that I have another section to get access at a later date is an added bonus!!

I hear you Kate :D . Security of people's material is very important. I also think it's a good strategy to keep members interested in the site. The more you post here the more addictive the site becomes, so many lovely people to chat with about one of my favourite subjects :dancing:

all completely fair! :D i did notice that you cant delete a post after you have posted it and quite often my computer freezes and i press the post button and it doesn't work so i press it again and two of the same posts comes up, so sorry about that :giggle: my stupid laptop, i think i have a virus :giggle:

Post bumping s when a member posts a single word or just a smilie so that their post count goes up.

To view the password protected forums you do need a certain number of posts but we like to see proper replies on the board,hope that helps :D

thanks for replying its much appriciated. i will not be cheating as i always have lots to say about nigel rather then posting one word or a smile. in fact you have to shut me when it comes to him! i love that man more then my own partner-infact hes rather jealous of the harman! so will anybody be there in southampton?
